Warrior Monk – Threshold
Saturday, Dec 29, 2018 – Tuesday, Jan 2, 2018
3:00pm – 3:00pm
Our annual Warrior Monk Threshold of the New Year Retreat
at the Whidbey Institute Retreat Center
Whidbey Island, WA
In a powerful and elegant container, we practice a wide variety of transformational mind and heart-opening work, borrowing practical and grounded wisdom from many traditions. Blending intensive personal work with full immersion in retreat-like space grounds and reinforces deep growth and healing. Together, the participants and co-gender staff create a powerful and supportive cauldron for the work.
For 20+ years, we’ve consistently heard of the lasting impact of this work in people’s lives. We’ve learned well how to oer this work with safety, sweetness, fierceness, and fun. Please consider joining us.
Dan McKee leads the Warrior Monk training with a small staff of women and men. He brings an extensive background as student, teacher, and leader in many models and traditions: spiritual, philosophical, and experiential psychology. His focus and gift are in creating a grounded learning environment rich in compassion, awareness, safety, and humor.

an experiential training designed to be truly integral enhancing and intertwining one’s spiritual, emotional, and psychological healing and growth.
A note from Dan:
Liminal space is considered a place where we humans can truly grow and evolve, and is often described as a threshold. It’s a space we must enter into in order to create the possibility of deep and lasting change in our lives. A rare place where real transformation can occur — meaning we’re willing to be no longer the person we were, and not quite who we’re becoming. It requires a suspension of our current life, and a letting go of the attachment to what we think our life is going toward. This is a very dynamic moment in our life’s time, and very much what our work focuses on taking advantage of.
To that end, we are offering “Warrior Monk Retreat at the Threshold of the New Year“ at the Whidbey Institute on Whidbey Island, WA.
People come into Warrior Monk at this new year’s cusp with a little more intention to create change, a little less resistance to old ways, and a little more tenderness toward themselves and others.
What I consistently hear expressed from people who attend, is a recognition of a new-found power to catalyze the past year’s personal work, events, disappointments and growth into a future-facing intentionality. Perhaps to finally leave behind a smaller or limiting version of their authentic self. To step into a bigger personal impact with their purpose and mission. To love people in their lives with more passion and presence. To find greater self compassion and inner peace.
This year we’ll be offering some expanded follow-up work to the four day retreat, with the goal of assisting each other even more than usual in the integration of the aspirations we carry back into our lives. Co-facilitating this Warrior Monk retreat with Dan McKee will be Pam Algar, psychologist and workshop leader from Edmonton, Canada, along with support staff Jean Crowder, Michael Fortune and Kurt Sandine.
An outstanding circle of individuals are already committed; please consider joining us as we enter this new year of new possibilities.
